Who gets the blame for the Celtics this series?

The Boston Celtics are a game away from being eliminated from the NBA playoffs. The Celtics were the top seed for most of the season and had visions of banner 18 especially when the Milwaukee Bucks and 76ers were eliminated. But now they are playing with their last life trying to survive against the 8th seed Miami Heat. Who deserves the blame?

You can take the kid out of Duke but can’t take the Duke out of the kid or something like that. After one of the greatest game 7 performances in NBA history, it felt like Jayson Tatum was ready to show that he was “humbly the best player in the NBA.” But how he followed it up so far against the Heat is anything but, he looks like another role players. With just 14 points in a must win game he once again disappeared when it mattered most. But is it Tatum or is it that he has to let other players get going first in order for them to get in to their rhythm.

Game in and game out the Celtics have done the same thing, get Jaylen his touches early in the game so he gets into a rhythm. To stop Jaylen just play hard defense in the 1st quarter on him and he is mentally checked out by the 2nd half. For Jayson Tatum this isn’t what you need or want in a secondary option. You need a teammate you can rely on whenever you’re getting doubled or looking for secondary scoring. Don’t get me wrong Jaylen is a great player but we already have this type of player in Tatum and could use help in other places.

But the person we should all be blaming for this resides now in Houston, Texas. Ime Udoka was suppose to be the next long term Celtics head coach. Taking them to the Finals in the first year he got the best out of this team, with great defensive efficiency and having a mind set of defense first. This year was suppose to be the year Ime got the ring but instead he fucked everything in his way.

2023 is one of the biggest disappointments in Boston sports history.
