NFL Offseason….FUCK
The Patriots finished last season with a wildcard weekend loss to the Buffalo Bills. High hopes coming out of Foxborough with Mac Jones looking like a franchise quarterback and a defense that had an up and down year. This offseason the hope was building around certain players, helping out Mac Jones and franchising JC Jackson. As the deadline for teams to designate tags to players the Patriots did not use one allowing JC to become a free agent, while our coaching staff took a hit with Josh McDaniels leaving for the Las Vegas Raiders and taking GM Dave Zeigler, and three other Patriots coaches with him in the process. Do you know how we filled those vacancies? Matt Patricia and Joe Judge, both who had god awful head coaching records with the Lions (13-29-1) and Giants (10-23). We are now putting our trust in to these two men to lead Mac Jones to the promise land.
The AFC just got another top tier QB when the Broncos traded for Russell Wilson, with that trade alone you could easily slide Denver ahead of the Patriots in preseason rankings. Russ adds to a team that has been missing a QB to fill Peyton Mannings shoes when he retired after Super Bowl 50. The news and rumor department has been swirling since both Indy and Pittsburgh both have a void at QB that Jimmy G could be a fit for the Colts after unloading Carson Wentz’s salary to the Commanders (idiots) and if things go in his favor on Friday, Deshaun Watson could be on the move to the Pittsburgh Steelers. If both things were to happen where would you consider throwing the Patriots? Bills, Colts, Titans, Bengals, Steelers, Chiefs, Broncos all would be ahead of you with Ravens and Chargers being on the line depending on free agency and the draft.
I am a huge homer, the biggest in the group and even I know that the outlook for next year looks very scary. Bill will need to have another incredible draft and find some diamonds in the rough in free agency to be able to compete in this loaded AFC.
If you need me I will be in my basement drinking WHITE BIRCH BREWING till free agency starts on Monday.
