The Curse of the Garden

It’s the curse of the TD Garden. First you had the Bruins, best team in hockey. The Presidents Trophy winners, the holder of the most regular season wins and points in NHL history. The Bruins were steam rolling everyone heading into the playoffs only to take the 8th seed Florida Panthers to 7 games and lose in overtime. Don Sweeney gave up a lot of draft picks for rental pieces to win now and after a first round exit he has to GM like he did last season and hope to get a roster that can compete like they did this year.

Now we have the other team that plays at the Garden, the Boston Celtics. When your biggest competition goes down in the first round, in the Milwaukee Bucks, you should be planning on a trip back to the Finals but not this year and not this team. Game 4 Jayson Tatum was missing in the first half, game 5 everyone but the Jays were missing. Another great run looks like it will be spoiled with no championship run and a team that may be on its way to losing one of its superstars. Like the old saying goes, when it rains it pours and for all the success we had here in Boston we are now cursed from it.
