I blame Brady

Aaron Rodgers turned down an extension from the Green Bay Packers that would have made him made him the highest paid football player ever. Again. Let me start by saying Green Bay has wildly fucked up this situation with Rodgers. Not by calling for a FG in the NFC Championship game or draft Jordan Love. They probably should have gone for the TD, sure. Is that worth quitting over? And, I don’t blame them for looking ahead into the future at the most important position in sports. Plus, ya know, your current QB is a freaking nut job.

Ya, Aaron Rodgers is a tool. A mercurial tool bag with a track record of coming up short. No one even knows if this guy wants to play football again and the Packers toss him an extension for a BAGILLION Dollars tieing him to GB for 5 more seasons after he has refused to even have a conversation with them in months? I blame Tom Brady.

Ever since Brady did the unthinkable and left New England the NFL has made a hard left turn into NBA territory when it comes to player power. And I am all for giving NFL players more power. They need more guaranteed money. They should have more of a say with the rules committe. They should get more of a partnership role in the NFL, period. The problem for me is what has happened in the NBA.

In the NBA the players have used their immense power to dictate the landscape of talent across the league. Of course I’m talking about super team. Some will say the NBA has always been a league with the top teams stacked with talent and that’s true to an extent, but you have to start bringing in the salary cap era and yadda, yadda, yadda. It’s much easier to blame someone. In the NBA we blame Lebron. He started this with “taking his talent to South Beach”. In the NFL it’s Brady taking his talent to “the Tampa Trash Beach”.

Look at the number of NFL QB’s that have pushed for or out right demanded a trade in the short time since Brady went south. Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, Deshaun Watson, Carson Wentz, Matthew Stafford. These are not the normal NFL salary negotiations hold outs either. These are guys saying flat out I don’t like it here. I’d like to be warmer. Trade me.

So, thanks Tom. I’m sure your fake ass humanitarian ideology is clashing with your fake ass Capitolistic views and your very real Greed as Aaron Rodgers further shreds the competitive fibers in the NFL. Or more likely you give zero shits and you sleep soundly waiting for the next Pandemic to collect your PPP loan and sling your “Covid Juice” for a cool $69.99. Nice.

Either way this is your fault and your dead to me. Also, thank you for 6 Super Bowls and 20 years of paralleled fandom. I love you. I hate you.

P.S. I 100% take Aaron Rodgers on the Patriots the next two years. Sorry not sorry, Cam.
