Don’t tank for Caleb Williams

As of this morning we are the 5th worst team in the NFL. This could change of course but with the lackluster play from this team some of the Patriots fan base is screaming for them to suck for Caleb Williams. Williams was last years Heisman winner and the quarter back for USC. He is once again in the talk to win the Heisman and also he’s projected as the number 1 overall pick in the 2024 draft. But after last nights performance against Notre Dame I’m here to say that he will be a bust in the NFL.

The PAC 12 has some of the best offenses in all of college football with teams like Oregon, Washington, and USC all averaging 500 + yards (This is 7 weeks into the 2023 season) are these dominant offenses or are the defenses so bad that is misleading the public opinion about how great players like Caleb Williams, Michael Penix Jr (Washington QB), and Bo Nix (Oregon QB).

After watching Caleb Williams go up against a stellar Notre Dame defense he had one of his worst games going 23/37 199 yards 1 TD 3 INT and sacked 6 times. The make believe land of the PAC 12 is making everyone believe that Caleb Williams will be (insert any great QB here) and he isn’t even close. For Patriots fans to sit here and think this guy will be able to turn this franchise around is as delusional as those ESPN draft analysts that tell the public what to believe.

In order for the Patriots to right the ship is to not select a QB in the 1st round and wait for (a QB that has played and won with zero first round talent around him) and bring in a veteran who you have play while your newest pick sits a year and learns from Bill Belichick or whoever the coach is next year and get talent around them.

I hate the 49ers but respect what they have done. They got Brock Purdy, Mr. Irrelevant, and put so much talent around him that it steps his game up. Doing this in New England will help who ever the next QB is here in New England, just don’t let it be anyone from the PAC 12.
