Bruins-Swayman is getting messy

At 25 years old, Jeremy Swayman is not only trying to get his pay day but also “reset” the goalie market in the NHL. With the Bruins season starting next Tuesday, Swayman not only is screwing up the market but having a Mexican Standoff with Cam Neely and Don Sweeney.

In order for Jeremy Swayman to get his desired contract, which sounds like 8 years $9.5-$10 million a year, the Bruins would have to unload players just to make this contract work for Swayman. The Bruins currently have roughly $7 million in cap space. So a week before the season the Bruins would need to make trades, in which they would not get a great market value for since the other NHL teams know that Swayman has a gun to the front offices head, and will Swayman be happy here?

With management calling out Swayman and that dweeb, Lewis Gross, it’s a forgone conclusion that Jeremy Swayman will probably never wear a Bruins sweater again. The question now becomes what can you get for him?

less than a week to go. Let’s see what team pulls the trigger first.
