Botpod’s criteria for sports awards
This week was the NFL honors award show and after seeing the winners it instantly got my heated. Some of the award winners didn’t deserve the awards nor did the players who got “elected” into the hall of fame. Let me begin my rant by saying that i am in no way a Patrick Mahomes fan but like they always say, hate the player not the game. Patrick Mahomes led the Kansas City Chiefs to the Super Bowl with a lack luster offense.
When you lose a player like Tyreek Hill and your O-Line takes a beating (losing Joe Thunney), Travis Kelce didn’t catch a Touchdown pass from week 8 all the way to the playoff game against the Bills, and still end up in the Super Bowl you should be presented with the hardware that YOU deserve!
Lamar Jackson has a passer rating of 75.7 with 1,324 yards, 6 touchdowns and 6 interceptions in 6 games in the playoffs in his career. Via statmuse.com
LoL this is your MVP, and this doesn’t just go for the NFL this goes for all 4 major sports. If youre the most valuable player you should be in a championship game. Mike Trout has won multiple MVP’s in baseball and yet has never made a conference championship game. A-Rod when he was with the Rangers won multiple MVP’s and never made the playoffs. How does this happen?
So for my first criteria, MVP winners should make it to their respected sports championship game. My next rant, criteria for the Hall of Fame.
WHAT! These guys are Hall of Famers? Lets call it the Hall of above average players. The Hall of Good is what it should be called. You’re telling me if Devin Hester was in his prime and you put him on the 2023 Carolina Panthers he would make a difference for that team? No! Andre Johnson is in the same category, not a difference maker. Now Dwight Freney, Julius Peppers, and Patrick Willis are deserving all made the hall fame because they were difference makers and also made Super Bowls and was the reseason for that defensive side of the ball. Mongo McMichael was apart of that 85 Bears defense, one of the best in the history of the league and also fighting ALS. So before he passes he is well deserving. The last person, Randy Gradishar? WHO? Exactly, when you have to google someone to figure out who or what they did, hell even what side of the ball they played on, then you’re not deserving.
