People need to chill on the “I hope Cam Blows take”
You are all missing the boat with the hope that Cam will blow so that Mac Jones can start. Cam already blows. Mac Jones already makes more money than him. Mac Jones is automatically the best QB on the Patriots as it currently stands. And that’s coming from a guy who hates the idea of playing a rookie QB.
Just as a reminder, Cam Newton ranks in the bottom 5 all the major statistically categories last year as a Patriots QB. He has three games in a row where he threw for 69, 81, and 123 yards. He fumbled away a win in Buffalo, he should have thrown away a win vs Arizona. Cam Newton was arguably the worst starting QB in the league last year. People want to forget that for some reason. I will not let you forget. I am on record as taking literally any other NFL QB over Cam Newton except for Geno Smith. He got punched in the face by a teammate over a plane ticket. I need an ounce more leadership out of the QB position.
The point is Cam wont let you forget either. Pre season. Week 1. You will see.
So don’t wish for him to suck. You’re wasting your juju. Wish for something that isn’t a foregone conclusion. Like Deshaun Watson keeping his hands to himself or Ghislaine Maxwell testifying.
Just to take two steps back into realty. What the fuck are the Pats thinking with this Quarter Back situation? This is a lose lose if they decide to run with Cam. #1 he blows, please reference the video above. #2 if by the grace of Ernie Adams he doesn’t bloww, he will be marginal at best. Which doesn’t win you a playoff game. Oh and by the way the #15 pick in the draft is sitting behind you trying to groom as an NFL Quarterback while the team is running a completely different passing offense.
The Patriots need to address their veteran QB situation. I still do not leave Jimmy G off the table as the place holder. Jimmy seems like a long shot or maybe even the wrong guy so if you want to replace that name with someone more realistic have at it. My point is the guy needs to be running the same offense so when he fails to reach the next level or he gets hurt, Mac Daddy can step right in and the offense needs not adjust. That feels rather elementary. But, more to the point Cam Newton Blows.
