Jansen Fears

Kenley Jansen was just the off a big accomplishment. Despite health concerns and one of them being a heart procedure (mid-season mind you) Jansen got his 400th save in a Red Sox uniform. The 7th guy to ever do it and 7th in MLB history in career saves.

Fun fact. Craig Kimbrel is at 398 right now.

Back to the season what happens on his next attempt? Blown save. It happens.

Next day? ANOTHER ONE!!!

The velocity down 3-4 mph. Cutter not working. And now, we ask ourselves PMM.

Is it -

Physical- Is he hurt? How’s the grip on the baseball? Can we just see something and fix it?

Mental - Where is this man’s head right now?

Mechanical - Off a tremendous start and two games in a row with back to back blown saves against “the worst team in the National League” per say.

Concern? Anyone? ERA from below 1 to now 4.26. WHIP at 1.658. Yikes!

With yesterday a blown off an 8 inning 1 ER gem by Chris Sale which every fan thought would never happen again, he couldn’t get the win.

As a Red Sox fan out there, are you scared? Is this bullpen and really pitching as a whole going to just be a blow up this season? Still dreading of Boggy going out west and finding out Story's elbow exploded in the spring time instead of the late fall and winter off-season. But it’s unfair that Verdugo, Devers, and company have to carry the load from incapability from everyone for the very most part.

Jansen I think will have this rough patch sorted out. When? I say a week. In the meantime, hopefully the offense can bail everyone out. Including this bullpen. Pain!
