Julio makes me nervous
The All Pro wide out has gone nuclear on the Falcons with his latest “I’m Out” remarks with Shannon Sharp and it’s all but a foregone conclusion he will be playing else where in 2021. There are reports that he has even come out and said he wants to play with Cam Newton. I gotta say, it all just makes me nervous.
Look, the off season the Patriots just had is one like we have never seen. They spent 1/4 Billion dollars in free agency. They over paid for guys and set markets. The team on paper has gone from the bottom of the league to one of the most talented (out side of the QB position). And now they are on the short list to additionally add one of the best WR in the league? It’s almost like it’s just all too good, ya know? This is not how Belichick has ever built a team. Either on defense or offense. I like my Patriots teams to be declare dead by the Trent Dilfer’s of the world only to rip the county’s collective heart out yet again in February. This has a fools gold feel to it right now. Not to mention we are going to be putting all of this fire power in the hands of… Cam Newton? Or a rookie?
The QB position is the biggest part that has my nether region all tingly. It’s given me the bubble gut and I’m not sure if it’s happy nerves or naughty nerves. We had 20 years of a base layer of Pepto Bismol behind center, then went straight to chasing Mop Buckets with 151 on a bad sushi diet. I’m not a roller coaster guy. Shit, I’m not even a tea cup guy. I’m a sit at the bar kind of guy.
I’d love for this roster to boost Cam all the way from the bottom 3 QB he was last year to a Super Bowl winning QB in 2021. As much as I have ripped the guy, I’d love to see him succeed. But, toot fucking toot, I said it was a terrible signing last year and it proved to be. That’s hard to get out of my head. They turf balls and strong side sacks as if they guy never played the game before. Or the alternative is a doughy rookie?
Of course I’m taking Julio Jones if he is there. With out Brady you are like every other team. You need an immensely talented roster in order to win. The problem is, the Patriots have it and I don’t know, it feels dirty almost.
