Prepare to be wildly disappointed

Cam Newton is the reason you are all about to stick a fucking sock in your mouth and suck. Because he is the nightmare you are afraid of. The thought of Cam Newton starting at quarterback for the New England Patriots Week 1 of the 2021 season is very likely if not already pre determined. So with the draft on Thursday you all are crying for Bill Belichick to trade up into the top 10 and select one of the 5 top QB’s. I have one question for you. When did the New England Patriots become the Cleveland Browns? (Some would say after replacing Tom Brady the greatest player in the history of sports with Cam Newton.) I digress.

How many countless examples of desperate dumb franchises have over extended for a QB in the 1st round of the draft because they feel like they have to? Quick math? 1 billion. And now Patriots nation is about to toss their lunch in a hat Thursday night because Bill Belichick is not giving up major draft capital to move up 7 spots in the draft for a kid with less than a 50% shot of even being in the league in three years? Just because he throws the balls and controls the game on 70% of the game’s snaps. Read a book children.

No, the more likely scenario is he trades back a few spots and selects some giant fatty on one of the lines and the collective grumble across New England knock out power for a blip.

Look, I’m no “In Bill we Trust” binkie boy like my colleague, The Salty One. I’m also not a fan of trading up for the last QB standing of the this top 5 grouping. I actually like the idea of moving back into the end of the 1st and grabbing a QB from the 2nd tier. I’d like them in turn to use that 15th pick on a guy who impacts the game this season and trade for Jimmy G. There’s the Mona Lisa. - Veto - Ideal Gas Law -Deflate Gate. - Protect the Wall - Create a wall - up front - Front 7 - Bill’s drafting a Defensive front 7 player. Boom! Free lesson in word association.

Whether that be a front 7 or your next franchise LT at 15 I’ll leave that to chance and the professionals. I’m just here to tell you when Bill doesn’t bring you the kid from Ohio State with the 8th pick after sacrificing the farm you can drop your tears in my bucket.
