Simplest Minds of the Week

Police issued an arrest warrant for Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice for his alleged role in a multi-car accident in Dallas late last month, according to WFAA.

Rice’s attorney confirmed he was driving a Lamborghini that was seen allegedly racing a Corvette on a Dallas-area highway late last month. The two drivers lost control of their vehicles, and the Lamborghini went onto the shoulder, hit the center median wall and caused a collision with several other vehicles.

When I first read this story did everyone else picture the Corvette in this Texas scenario as a ‘69 Stingray T top giving major Dukes of Hazard vibes? Cowboy with Big old 10 gallon hat, Cartoon Mustache flappin in the breeze behind the wheel. YeeeHAWWWWW!

Sadly, it was a student athlete behind the wheel. Booooring. Nobody died here. There was some injuries and a birthday party was delayed, so victomless enough to laugh at. The act of racing in that setting is dumb enough I guess, but it was this fine detail that lands Mr. Rice on the Simplest minds of the Week segment.

Drugs, a Kansas City Chiefs playbook and a check for $16,500 were among the items recovered from the scene of a multi-vehicle crash involving Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice on a Dallas highway last weekend, police records show. Dallas TV station WFAA reported that 10.8 grams of marijuana were found in the Lamborghini Rice had been driving.

Drugs, of course. The $16,500 check raises a number of questions. My first instinct is to think it’s from the Chiefs, but its the off season and that seems like a small number for a NFL Player racing a Lambo. Secondly, who’s writing checks? Was this a off brand sponsorship payment or culmination of a Weed deal with 10.8 grams scraped off the top? I love the idea of someone paying for $16,500 worth of weed with a check.

The cherry on top is the play book.

“Wasn’t me officer” - Rashee Rice.

“Is this your dig route highlighted son?” - Cop

“Fuck” - Rice

At least he’s putting in the study work in the off season.
