The Big Picture

After hearing the news of Michael Penix Jr. having dinner at Foxborough and meeting with the Patriots brass got me and I think everyone thinking, they are trading down. Michael Penix is not valued at 3rd overall he’s probably not the 3rd best QB ranked in this draft. But if you can trade down and add more picks and maybe experienced players, then the Patriots should trade with the likes of Minnesota who could give you two first round picks this year, maybe later round selections this year and another 1st next year.

Getting two first round picks for the 3rd overall selection will help this team tremendously. Whether that is taking Penix at 9 or a LT (who ever is best available) or if he’s still available the Patriots should target Rome Odunez.

Rome at 9 and then Penix at 23? Would that make Patriots fans happy? You still have holes in other positions but taking two guys who have chemistry already would be a great start for the Mayo regime. You could draft a LT in the 2nd round and your offense sure as hell looks a lot better than last year’s debacle.

On our show we have stated that the Patriots should trade out of the pick. These draft analysts don’t know shit. You have a 33 % chance of landing a franchise guy in the 1st round. Get as many picks as you can and build this team back up!
